From complicated processes to lean production:
how we helped Kaufland grow employee loyalty and strengthen its employer brand with a modular solution

A lean production team with multidisciplinary expertise took serialized content from idea to delivery for a top-tier brand in just a few weeks. We optimized the entire workflow and maximized value for the client, simplifying processes and cutting the time from pre-production to delivery to a minimum. Even though the brand had its own internal production resources, the challenge came from friction in the collaboration between multiple teams and a complex decision chain — in a project that needed an agile approach tailored to their internal organizational reality.

The Context

Kaufland Romania is one of the largest retailers on the local market, part of the international Schwarz group. With an extensive network of stores and over 17,000 employees, the company stands out through its commitment to quality, sustainability, and responsible development. Kaufland invests consistently in innovation, customer experience, and employer branding initiatives, cultivating a strong, people-first organizational culture.

The Challenges

Kaufland needed a podcast format that could:

  • Reflect the brand's professionalism and premium image;
  • Accommodate a large number of guests and multiple episodes;
  • Be quickly adapted across diverse distribution channels (TV, social media, internal platforms);
  • Have an efficient, yet scalable, production flow.

The Solution

A premium video series, produced in record time with end-to-end delivery.

For Pauza de Kafea, the employer branding podcast developed by Kaufland, we completely transformed the production flow — moving from a standard setup with 60-minute recording modules to a fully integrated full-day production system, tailored to the needs of an international brand. This transition was possible thanks to the modular and scalable architecture of Amaze services, an all-in-one solution that supports both fast, efficient productions and larger-scale productions with a dedicated team and custom delivery.

Pauza de Kafea is Kaufland Romania's in-house podcast, dedicated to promoting its organizational culture through real stories from within the team. Hosted by Bogdan Cana, Recruitment Coordinator, the podcast shines a monthly spotlight on members from various departments, who share valuable perspectives on their lives and professional journey within the company.

Amaze delivered an end-to-end solution:

  • We eliminated complexity from the video production process, bringing clarity to the process and speed to execution.
  • We significantly cut delivery time through efficient, scalable, easy-to-replicate processes.
  • We evolved from a simplified setup (hourly modules) to a full, boutique production, with a dedicated team, studio, and full-day shooting.
  • We implemented a clear, collaborative delivery system (cloud sharing, intermediate rough cuts, collaborative systems to centralize feedback) — essential for companies with multiple teams.
  • We maintained brand consistency across every deliverable: from podcast episodes to vertical clips, teasers, and LookCast promos.

Premium editing services: LookCast-style promo for the "Pauza de întrebări" moment — multicam editing + animated 3D mobile mockup overlay that moves in real time with the host's presentation.

Modular production: adaptable to every brand's needs

The level of customization and complexity required by a project from a brand like Kaufland demanded a transition from simplified, hourly-module production to a dedicated full-day workflow, organized as a commercial production.

Thanks to the modular structure of the Amaze concept, we could easily integrate the specific requirements of any brief or format, delivering a fully customized technical setup. For Pauza de Kafea, that meant 6K shooting, an extended video and audio equipment package, and a dedicated lighting scheme built to deliver a cohesive cinematic look from one episode to the next.

On top of that, the production benefited from full access to premium facilities — dressing room, coffee and lunch lounge, video assist support, and an extended team of professionals, from producer and operators to production assistants and make-up artists. All of these elements contributed to a shooting experience aligned with the standards expected by a brand the size of Kaufland.

The entire process was backed by a clear production flow, with fast deliveries through a dedicated cloud platform. We implemented a system of intermediate edits (rough cuts), collaborative feedback, and custom deliveries, and for efficiency and quality we used real-time multicam live mixing.

Amaze delivered an end-to-end solution:

  • Multicam production for 8 podcast episodes
  • Pauza de Kafea opener production (production, post-production, music, logo animation)
  • Podcast episode editing, pacing, and branding (intro, outro, lower thirds)
  • Video highlights for social media
  • Multi-format video trailer
  • Transcript production and 2-language subtitling (RO – EN)

The production was powered by a collaborative ecosystem including a dedicated content repository, cloud access with high-fidelity, easy previews, and an efficient feedback collection system, enabling fast and clear revision exchanges throughout the process.

The video content was adapted into a dynamic format, optimized for social media, to meet the demands and fast pace of the digital space.

The Amaze team handled the entire adaptation and delivery process:

  • Editing materials in vertical format, suited for short-form content.
  • Integrating branding elements (lower third, logo, stinger, outro) and adapting them to the vertical format.
  • Using transitions and sound effects for a more engaging experience.
  • Creating outros for different content pillars.
  • Romanian and/or English subtitles, essential in a digital space where content is often watched without sound.
  • Music mix tuned to fit each platform's context.

The result: coherent, recognizable content, ready to cover the brand's entire content ecosystem.

Impact & Results

  • A series of 8 video podcast episodes, with a strong brand identity, perfectly aligned with the company's values.
